What is NVillustration?

After working in the industry for some time we started our Studio “NV illustration” on 25th December 2015. We specialize in hand painted miniature Paper cut artworks, dioramas and Installations inspired from nature and its beings

How did you come up with this idea and why did you pick “Wildlife”as your subject?

NVillustration’s artworks are inspired from nature. In picture: Bengal Tiger in Bush

We at NVillustration explored the medium of paper for our first year and nature was always our inspiration. NVillustration always created artworks inspired from nature and in 2018 we started our 1000 days series to spread awareness about our nature and since then we have not looked back.

How much time, energy and creativity it requires to produce one artwork?

Each artwork is made by cutting it in different layers on paper and then hand painting them with water colours. Each layer is hand assembled to give a final three Dimensional look to the artwork. Each artwork takes from 4-6 hours to finish. Smallest of the artwork measures 18cm (Head to tail). All the artworks are made without using any magnifying instruments.

What difficulties have you faced in your journey with such an extraordinary idea? What keeps you going?

The first was to make people aware and see around and second one was generating revenue through our art. The love for nature and need for conservation is what keeps us going.

Does NVillustration contributes to Wildlife Conservation out of it’s revenue?

NVillustration donate to various NGOs as per the need and every month we donate a percentage of our sales to one international organisation and one local organisation.

Awareness on fire in Amazon Forest

Can you tell us about your ‘1000 days of art series’?

Our story began on a rainy day in 2017. We were at our favourite place, a water canal near our studio and a bright yellow coloured bird (Golden Oriole) flew above our head. At that time we didn’t knew what bird was that, but his bright yellow colour caught our eye. We were so mesmerised by that beautiful bird, we just kept looking at him. Next day our search for the Oriole began and it took us to many different places and during that time we discovered other birds like Drongo, Stilts,Cormorants, Ducks and many more. It was so fascinating to know that all these different species of birds are living around us which we were not aware about. We decided to share the beauty and significance of these birds with the world through our art.

We took up challenge of making highly detailed birds every single day and in a miniature size so that it creates more curiosity for the viewers and engage them in learning more about the birds. In Picture: Tailorbird Feeding it’s Chicks

We took up this challenge of making highly detailed birds every single day and in a miniature size so that it creates more curiosity for the viewers and engage them in learning more about the birds. We began our series on 1st January 2018, initially it was a 30 days challenge but after the completion of the first month we got an amazing response. So we decided to continue it for the whole year. But after the first year we couldn’t stop because there are so many other species which needed conservation and awareness. So finally we extended our challenge to 1000 artworks and included Animals and plants also in it. We completed our 1000th artwork on 27th September 2020.
